Hooray for Burger King!

I'm not a big fan of fast food, but I have to stand up and give Burger King a round of applause. They have committed to 100% cage-free chicken and pork products by 2017. Hopefully, all of the other restaurants and food stores will follow their lead. We need to insist that animals raised for food are treated more humanely, and not kept in cages so small that they can barely move.

I have been spending more for quite some time now for cage-free eggs. I rarely buy pork or beef, but I'm going to research which companies treat their animals more humanely and buy it from them when I do. I find it very upsetting how we treat animals--especially those in the food production business. That's why I'm also happy that foie gras is being banned in California.

I think it's a good thing to let the chickens out of their cages. That way, they are much easier to herd.
