In a previous post I told you about the spinner dolphins that we saw right outside of the harbor when we went out on the fishing boat. Unfortunately, my camera has a delay, so I couldn't seem to catch them when they were leaping out of the water, except for the last photo. You'll have to double click on the photos to enlarge them and see them a bit better.
While The Staff was off having fun in Hawaii, I was experiencing the culinary delights of Chef Doug. That's right, I'm talking table scraps. Tri tip, for starters. The Staff never cooks tri tip. What's wrong with her?

Whether you want to splash in warm, turquoise-tinted water next to a burly sea turtle, ride the waves on a boogie board, or squish your toes in the warm sand, Hapuna Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii is where you feel like you are really on vacation. I especially enjoyed swimming with the turtle.
I had such a wonderful time in Hawaii, and I have many photos to share. The Big Island is so diverse and interesting. Did you know that it has 10 of the 15 types of climatic zones in the world? Did you also know that Hawaii's tallest mountain, Mauna Kea, is actually taller than Mt. Everest? It's just that its base is 17,000 feet below sea level, so it doesn't seem like it. We could see snow on Mauna Kea from Julie and Bob's house, where we sipped mai tais while wearing shorts.
Julie and Bob have a fabulous ocean view from their place, and we could see whales breaching and spouting from their dining room. We saw many whales while I was there. More on the whale watching later. It will take me awhile to get all of my photos posted. You'll just have to be patient.
I can't believe The Staff went to the beach without me. She knows how I like to dig in the sand. Doghouse.
